I'm awake early, before the sun is rising over the pines. Today, I'm going to the post office, the beach to ride waves, to work. Before this, I have some time to breathe out some of my thoughts.
As I zip through each day, I have less chances to do what I need to do. The only time that matters is now. Yesterdays are gone, and the people of yesterday are often best right there. The opportunities of yesterday are gone, and they usually do not come back. New chances and people arrive with each day, so what I do now, today, matters more than anytime before.
I've always thought what I could do to make my life fuller and better, but lately I realize that I am needing to accomplish smaller goals to arrive at the big goals. I'm not very sure where they'll take me, but I'm certain I'll do a really good job at it. My favorite graphic artist, Paul Rand, said you don't have to be original; you just have to be good. He was speaking of artists and designers, and as an artist, all I want to be is exceedingly good.
Day to day, I've gotten caught up in the details of trying to be unique and special, which was a mistake. I'll only be unique if I do what I'm good at.
Hello, readers. I am researching post production techniques in photography. If anything good results from this, it will be more natural-looking screen and print images. Will update later with photographs.
